Accidentally Showering in A Cemetery at Night

Going Barefoot for 41 Days - These Are The First 16
Просмотров 1,8 тыс.9 лет назад
Moved to Costa Mesa to start a new job. An April 5th, the shoe company TOMS encouraged people to go to work barefoot in order to raise awareness that not everyone has a pair of shoes. I decided to see just how long I could go barefoot without being asked to put shoes on. Ended up being asked at a bar in Seal Beach, CA after 41 days.

I really agree about putting something behind your knees. It doesn't have to be much, but an item of clothing larger than a shirt is very good. Laying diagonally solves much of the problem (compared to laying straight and forcing your knees to bend backwards) but putting a spare fleece jacket or even some rain gear under your knees works wonders. You might have to wake up bit to switch to the other side in the middle of the night but it's worth the trouble. And I sleep better in a jungle hammock than I do in my own bed.
Thank you so much!I have to sleep in this HUGE hammock because the dog pooped on my bed:(And i haven't got sleep for 2 days because it was uncomfortable to lay in!Now i can finally get some rest thank you so much for showing me this❤God bless you all❤
I usually use a 30 degree angle I find it a lot more easier 45 is a little bit too much you don't get as much body twist in your hammock try a 30° angle and you'll find out it's a lot better
Thank you!
I have literally bought one 1.9 water cooled. Great camper but engine is not great to drive. Thinking of selling or changing the engine. In two minds now as I'm planning a trip up Scotland
Your feet must be beat up!
Surprisingly no. They weren't even noticeably rougher to the touch. I figured they would be hard and callused, but I never saw or felt anything of the sort.
Thanks for the tips man! Great idea! I have a pump sack i might try this with. Hike on!

Hey man, did you break down in a red minivan near Scottsboro Alabama the summer of 2020?
Woah, so late seeing this. Nope, that wasn't me. Lemme think... Summer 2020 I was back living in Georgia for a bit, but have never been in a red minivan.
dude! 187k views!? this van was sick.
Ayeee thanks weird! I named it Rufus after my grandfather who seemed to have a wanderlust mind as well. I miss it at times, but if I did it again I would be sure to upgrade the engine for peace of mind on longer trips. Feels like forever ago I was living in it on the streets in Berkeley, CA.
Hi! I am thinking of pursuing this program. Did you finish it? What are you doing now? Was it easy to get a job? Are you happy you did this program? Are you still in Colorado? This video was really helpful as well! Thank you! -Rebecca
Hey :) I did not finish... long story short, I was kicked out. The program is awesome and if this is what you know you're meant to do in this life, I don't think there are many better programs. However, the work you do outside of the program is equally if not more important, so don't let a program alone sway you. I personally would not attend Naropa if I were to re-do my life for several reasons: 1) it's EXPENSIVE AS HELL. I took out the normal federal loan as well as the "living expenses" loan (i can't remember the name.. Grad Plus maybe?) and I'm over $150k in student load debt now. 2) I believe you can get the basics in most any program and find the people you jive with outside of the program to learn and share ideas on the area(s) you'd like to specialize in. For being a "wilderness therapy" program, the only real wilderness experience we had were the classes during our 2nd year. Hardly any of the internships (your 3rd year) are wilderness related and you'll have to work hard to find one that is. Not much help from faculty or staff on finding internships - I didn't like this part at all myself. 3) Boulder is such a fucking pretentions bubble inside of another bubble. Geographically it's in an amaaaazing spot, but the culture and people there were not my cup of tea. COMPLETELY saturated with therapists of all shapes and sizes in the Boulder/Denver area. Most of my colleagues started their own private practice after getting licensed and are doing ok - not thriving, but not struggling. Email me if you want and I'll share my number as I'm happy to give you more info/details if you'd like ArbitraryLifestyle@gmail.com

@@ArbitraryLifestyle Thank you! We appreciate the support.
great footage, like
I thought the angle was 30degrees? Video was pretty good, thanks.
Yep, 30-degrees! It's written in the description, and used to be annotated in the video but RUclips removed annotations a while back.
Halo new subscribe here
This was one of the videos I watched when considering sleeping in a hammock for my bedroom. I had a lot of back pain! I have been sleeping in a hammock for 3 years now and I have never felt better. Haven't had back pain in a long time! I liked your idea of knee support and I found I also needed neck support as well.. I even moved to a hammock when hiking and camping. Thanks for sharing your experience.
I made it with woodprix !
Fantastic one
Yeah it also make for me with a camping hammock from amazon www.amazon.com/dp/B07NLSKSRF that I can set it up on a few seconds. I recommend it if you wanna set up the hammock quickly.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Peace be to you (AsSalama'laikum)! I'm a new subscriber! This is a REALLY good equipment review! I would like to purchase on of these. My air mattresses deflate when I've gone camping! I hope you do more videos! PEACE!😊👍🏾🏕
Never heard of 45 degrees. Always heard 30 degrees - and have slept and camped like that dozens and dozens of times
Yep. That's in the video and the description. Edit: I see my annotations have been removed! Grrr, wtf RUclips??
No consensus on 45 degrees...the consensus is 30..the angle betweek the tip of your thumb and index fingers
Indeed. It's in the description and the video.
@@ArbitraryLifestyle what is ..45 degrees?
@@martinpecheur8506 no, the correction to 30-degrees is written in the description and overlaid (in text) in the video.
No more RUclips? I used to enjoy watching
Mannnnn I've been unmotivated to record much of what I'm doing lately, but at some point I think I'll get back to it.
Go do challenger or humboldt peak they are 2 of my favorite I’ve done 19 of them out here in Colorado
You’re insane 🤘🏾
we miss u man. how are u?
Please upload the video of you singing harmony to “some of it”. Can’t wait to hear it! Keep packin’.
Hey Josh, I came across this video while looking into Naropa's Program. I'd love to ask you some questions on it and hear your experience. If you're up for that, let me know a good way to contact you. Thanks! :-)
Totally willing to answer your questions. I'll DM you my email address.
Thanks so much! Hmm, I don't think I'm familiar with how to retrieve or send direct messages through youtube.
@@Er-or9pt Any update on your decision with the program? I can't recall if we connected or not :-|
Thank you man! This was extremely helpful. Was sleeping completely incorrectly, all the little subtleties you added were highly appreciated.
Just found your videos great job bro can't wait to watch more
How you doing now bro?
I'm good man, thanks for asking! Living in Northglenn, CO at the moment, but going to give South Florida a try end of Summer. Being closer to my family has become a priority, and I'm over the Colorado lifestyle for now.
ArbitraryLifestyle yeah good for you bro making priorities. I’m sick of the Colorado life style too
General concesus I have found is 30 degrees. Make a 'gun' with your index finger and thumb. Draw an imaginery line from the tip of each appendage and that's supposed to be the angle of your straps. Give it a try. Good tip on behind the knee support though. I find a rolled up sweatshirt works great for a pillow in hammocks as well
eI know I am probably 5 years too late to ask theese questions, but what hammock are you using and can you recommend it? Do you still sleep in a hammock? Thanks for tips btw, recently found an old brazillian hammock on the roof but it dosent look nearly as comfortable as the one you have in this video.
Hey! Not too late :) I haven't slept in a hammock in a while, but the one I'm using here an ENO (Eagle's Nest Outfitters) "Doublenest" hammock. I would recommend it 100%
30 ° !!
Do you measure the 30 degrees from the hammock support/tying lines to the wall, or between the hammock lines and the (imaginary) ridge line (perpendicular to the floor, attaching to either end of the hammock)? I usually see people measure it in the second way, which results in a sag that is still quite shallow (in my opinion) because then you have a 60 degree angle between the wall (or tree or whatever) and the hammock line. And when people lie down in that, they're still shaped like a damn banana. In videos on the traditional Brazilian hammock, the sag is much, much deeper (more like yours in the video) and then it seems the 30 degree angle is between the wall and the support lines. What do you think about this? I need to know b/c I'm going to hang a hammock on the wall so I need to know how high I should put my supports. Thanks!
ArbitraryLifestyle 17 seconds ago The 30 degrees is a measurement from the vertical object (wall/tree) and your anchor strap. smedia2.intoday.in/btmt/images/stories//June2014/hammock_062714072324.jpg
@@ArbitraryLifestyle Thanks for your speedy reply! But: what you're saying is opposite to what's in the pic you added. Because Z-corners with perpendicular lines are equal (one of few things I actually remember from math), the 30° in the pic are effectively between the anchor straps and an imaginary "ridge line" that runs from one point of the hammock to the other perpendicular to the ground. The angle between the tree and the anchor strap is 60° in the pic. Wish I could add in a drawing or something in here, that'd be clearer i think. Anyway I think I'll just prepare my room for a deep sagging hammock! Cheers
So the image has the angle wrong. Where they have 30 degrees is actually 60 and above that, where they have nothing written is the actual 30 degrees.
30° angle, definitely not 45°
I slept a couple of times in a hammock and it was OK but nothing great. But I never took in consideration of those details you’re talking about in this video. I don’t think I will ever like hammocks better done in an air mattress on the floor but certainly I am going to give it another try taken in high consideration all your advice. I am 57 years old and I have a heart condition so I have to be completely flat and this is the reason why I am saying I don’t think I will ever like him looks better than an air mattress on the floor. Very good videos though. God bless you.

W U T ?
I recommend 30 degree angle
I have no idea why just in the last couple days my timeline has 3-4 hammock videos every time I open it. After now watching most of them I think this is the answer to my problems. Insomnia and hurt back. Thanks for posting and I’m excited to try this out. My Dr only suggested opioids for back and heavy sleeping pills for insomnia. No thanks! I average 1.5 hours a night. Sometimes I’m lucky and get a chopped up 4 hours. And this has been 10 years of this crap. Fingers crossed for hammock therapy.
Haha, interesting. Give it a try and see if it changes/helps anything!
Also I might recommend trying CBD drops at night. For those whom it works for, it's a life changer for sleep.
ArbitraryLifestyle Thanks I’ve tried it before, and it was supposed to be the real deal but didn’t do anything for me. However just recently our state approved medical marijuana and I got a license approved! So I may see if a dispensary has something for it.
@@WulfricTheBlack Right on. It doesn't work for everyone, but when it does it does. There doesn't seem to be much middle ground where it "kinda works". Hope you get some good sleep soon!
ArbitraryLifestyle Thank you so much. There has to be something out there that will work. Just have to keep trying. 😉
awesome tips man, thanks a lot!
Cool video man.
Hey can I borrow some pixels? Thanks
If this looks pixelated it's your terrible internet or YT settings.
theres nothing like a subaru :) people bitch and complain about them, but they are great all around vehicles.
The noise of the hammock is making me cringe hard
Quack quack!
He’s wrong
I have one do not have it like that make sure it is more straight and not like a banana its better for your back
Great video! Thanks man!
